Robert Harper passed away on July 18, 2024. Mr. Harper was one of our last “founding fathers,” and was instrumental in starting our women’s league–still one of the few of its kind. He entered the SSSA Hall of Fame in 2011.
Viewing will be at Eaton Family Funeral on Aug. 6th, from 5-8pm. He will be interred with full military honors in San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery at Santa Nella on Wed., August 7 at 12:15pm.
Feel free to leave your memories below in the comments.
Bob, you will be sorely missed. Your smile was quite infectious too. You were a fantastic Softball coach. Especially when our team took the Gold at Huntsman Senior games. You were with our team, Aches & Pains again when the team, including you as one of our coaches, was inducted into the Hall of Fame. Well I must say I was bewildered last I saw you and you shared with me that you were going to meet the Lord, but only on a special day. You did that Bob. You said goodbye to this life as you know it on a very special day. You went to meet the Lord on Martha’s birthday. I think you gave Martha quite the birthday gift. You and Martha will finally be together again. You two have a remarkable love story. Bob I feel honored to be the person you shared this with. I also feel honored to have been coached in softball by you. More than that, I feel honored to have had both you and Martha with me through my brain surgery. You both took me under your wing. We became family as you said. Thank you for everything including the surprise of the golf cart. When we lost Martha and now Bob, we definitely lost two great people. Both of you sure made a difference in many lives. I love you both very much. RIP Bob. Love, Mouse
