“Events” from the morning leagues

AND SPECIAL KUDOS to Charlie Partin, one of our elder members. On a recent Tuesday morning game, he made all three put-outs in one inning, snagging shots from guys 20+ years his junior at third base.

For those who haven’t spent much time with the internet, you may find pages don’t seem to change, even though it’s high time they did. Sometimes, it means the volunteer squirrels turning the gears behind the scenes haven’t gotten to it yet. But, more often, this simply means you need to “Refresh” your view of the page.
In order to save time, your local computer saves a copy of the page. Sometimes it forgets to check for a new version. That’s when Refresh/Reload is your friend (and you prove YOU’RE in charge).
To start a refresh, look for it’s icon near the top of your browser. Usually it’s some sort of circle with an arrow in it.
If you can’t find it, never fear–there’s always a key for that. The F5 key is generally reserved for the same purpose. On anything Apple, of course, it is different: often [Command] plus [R].
If a page HERE still hasn’t changed…well, webmasters usually respond to bribes.
Drafts for each league have completed. We’re just tidying up schedules and roster lists to post here (and not expose any personal data).
Watch the new Schedules/Rosters page for your team/league.
During March, practices are held on each league’s day and time. This gives players a chance to take a few swings, and team captains to plan their draft.

Our Spring kick-off event was February 21. Once again, a great chicken-TriTip feed was put on by Mike’s Branding Iron.
After an Invocation by Dave Hansen, new President Al Sterling tapped Jim Laurenti to open the festivities with a joke. The Mason Kirkpatrick awards were presented to John Bishop, James Galloway, and Danny Vierra. The Terria Banda award went to Penny Barker.
Selected for the Hall of Fame this year were league veterans Royal Addis and Mike Stout.
Plaques were presented by Don Angle to three members who have been in the league for 35 years: Bill Bashor, Charlie Partin, and Frank Romandia.
And now…it’s on to another season. Dust off your gear–practices start the first week of March.
See the Photo Gallery for some pictures from the night.
Registration forms have been mailed to those of you we have an address for. Never fear–if you didn’t get one, or the dog ate it, the very latest revision is available: just click here for another copy.
You’ll notice there are discounts available for early registration, as well as for multiple leagues.
Questions? You can register in person at our annual General Meeting & Dinner and still get your discounts. Mark your calendar: Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2024, 6:30pm. Once again, we’ll gather for good grub at the Riverbank Community Center.
