SSSA Tournament in Lodi

Stanislaus Senior Softball Association put on the “Fall Classic” tournament on August 8 & 9. Held at the Lodi Softball Complex, 11 teams came to have fun on a very toasty weekend.

Some snapshots of the event are available on our Facebook page, as well as our Photo Gallery page here.

SSSA Board Members were present to sell beverages and snacks, and the event generated funds to help with our non-profit’s required donation to a local charity.

Results were as follows:

Many thanks to the teams participating, and the many volunteers who helped put on the event.

Hall of Fame

Stanislaus Senior Softball Association has a long tradition, and we honor those who have made significant contributions by including them in our Hall of Fame.

Nominations are now open for a new slate of honorees. Criteria for a Hall of Fame nominee, a person who has demonstrated through actions and deeds that he or she is worthy of being a SSSA Hall of Famer, are as follows:

  • Nominee has awards and recognition from other entities like Halls Of Fame, other sports events and organizations, kids’ baseball and softball, charity work, and things that make them stand out as individuals worthy of honoring.
  • Member Nominees must be at least 55 years old with 10 years in our Association and are in good standing with SSSA.

Please submit nominees to a Board Member or email your nomination to Board President David Hansen: pres@stanssa.com

SSSA “Veterans”

Let’s just take a moment to acknowledge the guys who helped build and sustain Stanislaus Senior Softball, the members of the 80-plus club. (At least, those who were there for a hot August Golden League game.)

May we all be so fortunate as to have the option to play our game so long….

The event was held on Mon., July 20 at Station 1 (600 11th St., Modesto). Modesto’s Vice Mayor, FD officials, and SSSA friends were in attendance.

2026 Elections

The Stanislaus Senior Softball Association Board of Directors needs YOU. Nominations are now open for candidates. You may suggest yourself or others.

Elections this year will be for Vice President, Secretary, and 3 Director seats.

The Board consists of 4 Officers (2 year terms), and 9 Directors (3 year terms). Terms are staggered so that 3 Directors and 2 Officers are elected per year.

Email your nominees to:  pres@stanssa.com. Or, inform your league’s Commissioner or Board members. For questions, contact Board President David Hansen (209-204-1162).

Deadline for nominations is July 23, 2026. Elections will be held during games August 11-13.

Rules Updates

REMINDER: According to league rules, you must wear league-supplied shirts and hats (section 2.2, Uniforms).

And speaking of rules…you may have noticed the City has been marking lines around the batters’ boxes.

When scoring, avoid these lines as well; in other words, make sure you run well right of the home plate area, or you will be called out.

2026 Picnic

Our annual summer picnic has been set for July 16 (a Thursday) at 6pm. Board Members will once again be cooking and serving tri-tip, hot dogs, and trimmings.

All members of all leagues are welcome to this event. Thursday night leagues will play as scheduled.

The raffle we have that night is a big fundraiser for us. If you can donate any items for this effort, please notify a Board member.
